MailWrangler for iPad 1.0 Released

I’m happy to announce that Apple has approved MailWrangler for iPad 1.0 earlier today. It is now available in the App Store for $0.99.

This first release is a bit raw, but it is a first step down the path I started almost two years ago with my initial attempt at releasing MailWrangler for the iPhone. Purchasing it will support me in my endeavor to build a much more powerful app than the current 1.0 version.

MailWrangler is mostly a pet project to fill a personal need. Suggestions and feedback are welcome so that the app can evolve in a way which may make it useful to others.

I’m expecting to put out a 1.1 release later this week which should include at least:

  • fixed account sorting (ascending instead of descending)
  • a built in browser for opening links

This will definitely be a free upgrade.

Check it out on the App Store here.

The speed of interface will dramatically increased if take good use of html5 local storage.

GMail does take advantage of html5 and the app allows it to. The slowdown comes from having to log in to gmail each time you switch accounts. I have some ideas on how to keep you logged in to each account concurrently, but it needs some more research. Hopefully sometime in the future.

PLEASE, for the love of god edit the name for the iPad app! I just downloaded your app and love it, but the app shows up as "MailWr...oriPad" on the homepage. PLEASE make it read "MailWrangler" !!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

Interesting, the development version shows the name as just MailWrangler. I'll have to look in to why it is being distributed differently.

    Thanks for the feedback.
